Besides working and going in and our of Doctor offices with my kidney problems and other health problems that are coming on with my old age I take care of all my fur babies. These are just some of the ones I have here. They all have been part of the T.N.R program which is better than taking them to the pound where they would be put to sleep in a week since our Animal shelters are so full the euthanize rate here is extremely high
<<<<<<--------------------

Just recently there was someone who dropped of a pregnant mamma kitty and she gave birth to 3 beautiful little fur babies and I have been watching over them so the coyotes or foxes up here don't have these guys for a dinner or snack  ----->>>>
And yes once these babies were old enough to eat regular food mamma got fixed to, these just aren't big enough quite yet to get them fixed yet

Holidays are done..... What's next????

Hello everyone I'm back..... I know it's been a while since I wrote but been very busy with everything that was going on. So come sit for a short spell and have a cup of Joe with me , so we can catch up.
First I hope everyone got stuffed  and had a great Thanksgiving and a very Merry Christmas.
I have been working more hours, and crocheting like a mad man to get things made to give as Christmas gifts, so much that I thought my hands were going to fall off . here is some of the things I did...
here is a bat man pillow cover I did for my grandson. This was my first Graphghan ,thought this was going to be easy since it only had  2 colors and not a lot of changing..... Ha-Ha... was I wrong its trickier than it looks. I had to frog  it 8 times from the base of the main black under to bat to the middle of the wings because it wasn't coming out right , till it finally clicked with me then it went pretty good. Not quick ... but good ( for those that don't know what frog means it means rip it out ... rip it, rip it... get it it sounds like a frog)
Then I seen some infinity scarves I liked and thought ...hum I can do that for gifts ... so I made... and made.... and made and made some more. all total I believe I made about 10.  here is some of the ones I did ...

then I did a stroller lap blanket for my great grandson as you can see he is enjoying it and have been told he sleeps with it most  nights
then..... I crocheted  a set of 4 coffee cozies for a soap opera star ... I won't mention names but they are on DOOL one for winter spring summer and fall ... and they were a big hit !!!
.... On top of all that.. I been taking care of 3 of my hurt kitties.
This first one was missing for 3 days before we found her stuck in twine up in the barn under a roll of hay. If it hadn't been raining that day I would never have found her because I usually feed the cats on the porch due to possums and racoons coming in the barn and eating up all their food . But it was raining and I didn't want the food to get wet and wasted so I went to feed them in the barn this time and heard her meowing like she was calling for help. I climbed up on the rolls all the way to the the back of the barn and down into a little spot where I could barely see her. I tried coaxing her out with no success, so I tried to gently pull her out and discovered she was hooked on something so I started digging and throwing hay everywhere to try to get to her to get her loose. It took us 2 more days to get her unstuck.
Cant really see her foot to good in this picture but she dont like me touching it  See the twine that was wrapped around her foot so tight it cut off the circulation. I had to unwrap it like a bread tie just to get it off of her foot . Once I got it off it just curled right back up as you can see from the pic and now she is loosing her foot from it .

Then I got this other kitty that wouldn't stay here and had been staying at an old abandoned farm house ( because all the other cats here picked on her) I went up every day to feed it and it didn't come out like it usually did so I looked around for her. I heard her meowing and finally found her and she couldn't walk or stand, and had blood coming from her behind. I thought she had gotten kicked by a cow or hit by a car. So I took her to the vet and she has a busted pelvic, and didn't give me much hope for her surviving . So I brought her back home, thinking she wasn't going to make it but I'll make her as comfortable as possible for the time she has left.  She is adapting to being inside and slowly on the mend, which really surprised me.  She walks now but her left leg tips inward and she drags her foot and walks with it curled this is her, resting on a pillow ...She has a strong will to live and I'm so glad I didn't and couldn't put her down ....
I got another hurt kitty that has a big hole that is slowly healing on her back. Honey says it looks like a fox or coyote tried to grab it and ripped a big hole in its back which I'm not going to show a picture of because it's gross looking , lets just say that kitty was VERY LUCKY to still be alive!!
I know I bet you are asking yourself right now... how many cats does this women have???? Well put it this way... I have a lot less now than I did, I have 18 cats now and 1 dog.
2 years ago I had 52 outside cats I was taking care of , some were mine but most were strays that mine brought home, babies of mine, and ones that people dropped off because they didn't want any more . Me being an animal lover  and soft hearted I couldn't let them starve so I feed them, watch over them and take care of them the best I can.
With the help of a local animal group they helped me get them all fixed and tipped their ears so anyone who sees them knows they are fixed and part of the TNR ( Trap, Neuter, and Release)  program and they even helped me find good homes for some of them. A lot came up missing I believe it was due to the coyotes around here as well as being hit by cars because they wouldn't get out of the roads.
Any way...... I hope you all are doing good, and I thank you for stopping by my blog here once again to have coffee with me .I'll try not to make it so long between me writing here and sharing a cup of joe with you all . That's going to be my New Years resolution .... to write more and share more, along with still crafting and spreading smiles... Well I'm off to play with my new sewing machine that I got for Christmas to see what sewing crafts I can come up with now ..... Till next time, keep smiling and have a great day and Happy New Year Everyone .... See you next year  :-)

Getting Older

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Good Morning everyone, grab a quick cup of coffee with me and sit with me just for a few. If you need a cup I got a fresh pot on and I'll pore you a cup. This morning is my 55 birthday and it's going to be a good day I can feel it in my bones!!

I don't feel any older but when I look in the mirror, I see wrinkles I never seen before, gray hair popping out everywhere! (which I have earned every one I have)  I have to look  real close to the mirror to even be able to see good to put on makeup these days, which I don't wear much of any more, I figured if you don't like how I look now then you don't have to be looking .I got spider veins all over my legs, and I don't even like spiders so how did I get them... lol  But you want to know something..... I feel good!!! I mean I may be over weight by the Dr's standards , and may have some aches and pains from time to time but all in all I feel good.
I love my life, I love the man I am with and have been with for the last 7 years now, I have been blessed to have 6 wonderful kids ( who by the way gave me every grey hair I have earned)  My Children have given me so far 8 wonderful and very beautiful grand kids, and through this relationship I am in now I have also become a GREAT Grandma to 1 very handsome young man who isn't even 6 months old yet.

Birthdays isn't about getting gifts any more ( but hey I wont turn them down either)  they are another year to celebrate all the good things in my life , all the beautiful things I have seen and got to experience.  It's another year to start enjoying more in life that is going to be full of surprises and adventures. I know all will not be good ones, because nothing in life always goes just like you want them to, life isnt a bowl full of cherries with out the pitts like they say ... but you can learn from the bad and get valuable lessons from them... This I have learned over all these years so far.
Something else I learned .... you NEVER take for granted anything because one day you will have it and the next it may be gone... be thankful for what you do have, don't wish and want for more than you can grasp, there is a reason you don't always get what you want in life, live life to its fullest that you can, smile and laugh often is words I always heard people say but never really understood them till I started this old age thing. Now I do just that... Live, laugh, love and smile often.
Birthdays are a day of celebration because that was the first day you came into this world, and to me I celebrate being here still able to enjoy every little thing I can. Like the beauty of a  single daisy standing tall.. all alone blooming, along the road I walk trying to get in my 10,000 steps. (which I haven't got to yet but I will) A deer in the field grazing and looks up at me but doesn't run away and just goes back to eating as I snap a picture, the cows looking at me with those big beautiful brown eyes like I'm a crazy woman who talks to them as I go past them not once but twice... I tell them shhhh ...don't tell everyone but I am a bit crazy but most people already know that . Being able to take something plain like beads and string and turn it into beautiful bracelets to give to people to brighten up their day, (this one I gave to my daugher)
The beautiful sun rises and sun sets I have been able to see every morning and evening along my walks and from my  front porch

the smile from a stranger, a good hug from my sweetheart, when I come home, the voice of my children when they call, watching my older brother do his video gaming, and listening to his commentary and re-enactments of Fifty Shades of Grey...omg sooo funny!!! Seeing strangers come into the store I work at sometimes a bit grumpy but by the time they leave they walk out the door with a smile I have given them, a simple thank you when I help someone having troubles getting around and I help them take groceries out to their car,  little things in life to me mean so much more now than they use to.
I guess what I'm getting at here is that getting older isn't so bad, it all depends on how you look at it and deal with it all and I feel like the good lord has blessed me and given me 55 wonderful years so far to enjoy, and I plan on enjoying many more....and I hope you all do the same.
Well guess that's it for this one , I hope you enjoyed your quiet time with me this morning  .... until our next coffee break time ... enjoy the little things in life, and if you feel like leaving a comment and letting me know what little things in your life that makes you smile the most than please do feel free to do so I would love to hear from you all.
Have a wonderful day everyone .............. till next time

Who Are We???

Follow my blog with Bloglovin
Good morning all..... grab your favorite cup of coffee and join me here for a few minutes. I need to talk about something that I see keeps getting worse every year, and it makes me feel ashamed to be part of this human race.
This morning I want to talk a bit on... Who Are We??  Have you really stopped to think about it  Have we gone crazy People?? Are we humans or wild savages? Are we like the wild cavemen that fight over any little item? Why are we acting like savages, grabbing and fighting and pushing, and trampling our fellow man...for one night..... and for what?????..... WHY????? Just to grab that one sale item.. that you never wanted all year long till now? That you might never use or maybe once and a blue moon would use? Have no room for it but want it just because it's on a "SALE ", or if you give it to someone they re-gift it because they don't really want it either, and for what.. because the corporations say "only chance to come and save.for one night"... yea right.... PEOPLE WAKE UP!!!
If you don't spend that buck and  fight over it, you save that buck and more anyway! It may cost you more in  gas  to go to that store just to get in a fight, so you can grab that one item, have some one  Pepper Spray  you because they want it, or you wait at the door to get in and when it finally opens you are in front and fall down and get trampled on, maybe break a few ribs, then have to go to the hospital, or get arrested and have to call someone to get you out of jail, because a fight breaks out and your right in the middle of it !!
I never have been one that would venture out on Thanksgiving after dinner to go shopping, push my way through the wild mad crowds, getting trampled on, pushed out of the way,  just to grab AN ITEM THAT WAS ON SALE!!! Believe me I thought about it a few Thanksgiving nights as I went to sleep and wondered if it would be worth it to me or not to venture out. I thought nothing is that important to me to risk my life and health over so I stayed at home year after year, comfy, warm, and safe. In the morning when I was reading the  year after year, and it was all over the TV.... getting worse every year... I'm really glad I don't go out and I just stay at home. I read article upon article about Black Friday Fights Break out and the more I read about Stabbing, Fighting, Riots, Pepper spray used I have to say......... I'm ashamed...of us as humans and at the big corporations that cause these big riots and fights to break out.
THEY instigate these situations and sit back and watch the show....Twenty people, including children, were injured when a woman at a San Fernando Valley Walmart store used mace against other customers in what authorities referred to as a "competitive shopping" incident!!  Competitive Shopping???  CHILDREN got hurt... COME ON PEOPLE!!! It don't matter to the big corporations what happens to their customers as long as they make that so called "BIG BUCK",. The workers at these stores are put through hell as well as caught in the cross fire of a lot of customers rage and not compensated for it, they are expected to do it or loose their jobs. I'm sure they would rather be home safe and warm with their families as well but cant because " The company" says they have to be there to sell the stuff, and sometimes put their lives in danger as well.
Why do we act like savages just because something is on sale? Any other time of the year it could go on sale and no one wants it... but heaven forbid it go on sale Black Friday and we we turn into Dr Jeckle and Mr Hide.
  PEOPLE...... PLEASE....... enough is enough...
what are we teaching our children by acting this way? We try hard all year long... year after year... to teach them right from wrong, not to start a fight, not to be greedy, to share and help others, to be kind and courteous,to learn how to save money. And what do we do???  We turn around and for the one day forget everything we try so HARD to teach them... and SHOW them... it's okay to act like mad  crazy people,  It's okay to start a fight, it's okay to be greedy, it's okay to disrespect others.... really this is what you want your kids to learn???
Is it really worth getting trampled on...wasting gas running all over town ... getting into fights in the store for all to see... possibly getting arrested for being in the middle of a fight in the store... grabbing pushing shoving other, getting peppered sprayed, ending up injured and possibly in the hospital emergency room  and for what??? The bragging rights to say I did it I pushes an old lady down and grabbed the item right out of her hands,I knocked over people I shoved my way through the crowds,I got all my shopping done in one night. Then you look at your credit card bill when it comes in and wonder how are you going to pay this big bill and how long will it take you to pay this shopping trip off because one night of pure insanity. All you think about is shop, shop, shop and think you are saving a buck, when actually you realize you didn't really save  anything in fact you spent more when you add up the gas you spent running all over town and the next town and the next town looking for that one item .
I say NO more... lets not let these big corporations run our lives like this any more and tell us "we have to shop" "we have to spend" "we have to get there that day or we never will get it" get into fights over items just to help line their pockets with OUR hard earned money!! Put not only our lives in possible danger but sometimes also putting our children's lives in danger as well  because we have to take them with us because of no one to watch them while you act like a crazy person.
People lets get back to acting like civilized human beings, not wild savages out for blood. If buying that one gift on that night is that important, and you can't get it any other time of the year, or any other place than  I feel sorry for you,and you better rethink what is important because you have truly forgotten what Christmas is suppose to be all about. You have 365 days to shop not just one night... why risk your life and your health for one night just because the big Corporations want you  to come spend money. Lets try our best to get back to being Human beings, showing our children the right way to act, take back our lives from these big corporations, dont let them tell us what and when we have to do things. Get back the true christmas spirit
Thank you for letting me rant and rave and I hope and pray that this helps someone to see things differently for next year. And I hope this wont continue to get out of hand......... Remember to share a smile and brighten up someone elses day.......... until the next time........... Merry Christmas to all.

Coffee Break Time

Good Morning everyone. This is my first time at trying this whole blog thing out so please bear with me. First I want to say the thoughts in this blog are strictly my own no one else. They are just random thoughts that pop in and out of my head and make me wonder... hummm some times. Or just stuff that I felt like sharing with everyone
So grab a cup of your favorite coffee and sit a spell with me. Let me introduce myself.... Hello My Name is Elaine...I am 53 years young,I have been married and divorced 3 times and finally found Mr right in my life, but no not re-married for a fourth time. I have 3 brothers and no sisters so I grew up a tom boy. My parents are both gone to heaven but I feel them with me every day watching over me, and sometimes I feel their hands guiding me to do things.
I am a mother to 6 wonderful grown children, who all have lives of their own. I have promised them all I would not become that "butt in parent" that so many have. I have let my kids live their own lives and raise their own children the way they believe they should be raised. And I must say they have done really good job with it because my 7 grandchildren are growing up and becoming smart and wise young adults who I am very proud of.
I love to take pictures, make jewelry from my gemstones I've collected over the years, and other items (as you see to the right) I have collected to give to others to help brighten their day. I don't believe in selling my stuff I make because I believe when you give it to someone it means more to them than just selling it to them. No 2 items I've ever made have been identical so each item is different in it's own way, which means it's that much more special to the ones I give it to, because no one else has the same thing. It's not something that you can just find any where
I love to write Poems when inspired, This is one of my poems I wrote A Mothers Love  which actually got published in a book.
I love to play with my cats( which I have to many of) and I have 2 dogs,
I love to play games( guess I still got some kid left in me ) watch children s movies like Cars, Finding Nemo, Happy Feet , etc, etc...and of course my all time favorite ones...Land Before Time ( the 1st one) and Wizard Of Oz.I have recently acquired an interest for nail art and have been playing with that some as well. I've posted some I've tried on Pintrest.

Well my coffee is gone and I've bored ya'll enough for now I'm sure you got things you want to get done so I'll end this here and thank you for stopping by and reading this first blog of mine, it was very nice to meet you and I hope you will stop by again. Please leave me a comment  if you think I did okay or if there is something I need to know about and do differently since I'm new to all this bloggin stuff and this is my first blog. I hope you all have a very pleasant day and a wonderful weekend ......Until we meet again keep smiling and remember a smile is contagious... so spread them around.
